People think that a weight loss diet has to be painful or boring or simply not fun at all. That cannot be further from the truth. You can actually have “fun” foods while lowering the calories and losing weight. So what is “fun” food?
I describe it as foods that are fun, look great, and feel great while you are eating them. But your mind also has its own interpretation of what is fun. Which usually means foods that have lots of minerals and an abundance of calcium.
For breakfast, you can start your day with nourishing and easily digestible foods or make yourself a smoothie that contains some vegetables and herbs with fun foods like papaya (full of vitamins and enzymes for energy and vibrancy), apricots (good source of fiber and antioxidants), flaxseed oat crackers that have slow release carbohydrates to balance sugar level while giving your body lots of omega-3 fatty acids that make you feel good and help against constipation.
For lunch, you can have a high protein-rich meal to provide you with B vitamins that help the body cope with stress which energizing you with lots of raw energy. This meal would include a good chunk of organic turkey breast (no antibiotics, no hormones, and free-range farm raised) as a great source of protein tops with some avocado, coconuts (flakes or chunks), arugula, mango chunks, ginger, sliced cabbage, and/or mushrooms with cherry tomatoes. Add some olive oil and a very small pinch of salt, and you have a delicious lunch.
For dinner, how about an eggplant red bell peppers sweet potato zucchini sandwich on two slices of healthy rye bread? Does that sound good? Sweet potatoes are easy to digest, good for metabolism, nourishing, and tasty specially when combined with sweet bell peppers and eggplant slices. All of these deliver a potent dose of nutrients to your body which they are a great source of phytonutrients recognized for the healthy development of new cells. You can add a slice of low fat cheese, toast or just eat cold. This is just a yummy meal to have at night.
You want a spectacular desert?
How about a warm fruit salad in sweet wine sauce? A combination of a few soft and crunchy fresh fruits and pistachio nuts is both detoxifying and has a tonic effect and the fiber in fruits help support digestion and have potassium for lowering blood pressure. You can warm in an oven and be ready to eat in as little as 20 minutes. Add the following ingredients as you see fit and you have a delicious desert: 1 teaspoon raw cane sugar, ½ cup sweet white wine, 1 ripe pear, 5 figs, 1 orange, 1 peach (pits removed), 2 nectarines (pits removed), 1 apple, and some nuts (any that you prefer).
